I was over on Broadway.com checking out Sutton Foster's photos of the Young Frankenstein cast getting ready for their Macy's Day parade performance, and at Photo Number 17, was treated with the sight of Ashley herself in her, uh, incomplete costume. Check it out! Sorry I can't link to the 17th photo directly, just keep on clickin'.

Hey, don't know if anyone else noticed but on Broadwayworld, there are new Disney Mary Poppins video ads that are using footage from the Original London Cast, and it is not the abbreviated videos they've used before, it's professional footage and it looks marvellous! Check it out, it seems to be habitually appearing over the Broadway message board section at the top or on the side bar on the right.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has watched the show and saw goofs, impromptu changes or ad-libbing? I know that Mary Poppins isn't a show that allows much ad-libbing in the dialogue because it's a very neatly-structured story, but I read somewhere that at Laura Michelle Kelly's second-last performance in London they moved some things and played around a little (unfortunately the poster didn't go to any details), so I was just wondering if anything similar has gone down in Broadway.

Technical problems happen relatively often (for a stage musical), since the show is so complicated. During one of my viewings the show had to be stopped just before the bank scene, because the scenery refused to come down. A friend reported that when she watched it, the hat-stand that Mary first takes out of her carpet bag refused to straighten, but the actress covered it pretty well.

One goof I found amusing was Gavin Creel tripping over the Chim Chim Cher-ee lyrics. It wasn't obvious, and anyone who doesn't know the lyrics back-to-front wouldn't notice it, so I snickered all to myself when he went "Chim chiminy chim chiminy chim chim cheroo // A sweep is as lucky, as lucky can be" -- it was supposed to be "chim chim cheree" to rhyme with "can be". Since I noticed it, I kept my eyes on his face, and sure enough, I saw him cringe slightly to himself when he realised his mistake. XD

Hello all!
I just joined this community and wanted to say hi!  I got to see Mary Poppins on Broadway in July, and absolutely loved it.  Gavin Lee was amazing, and although Ashley Brown was out, Megan Osterhaus was wonderful as Mary.  It was so much fun--and I had to buy the parrot head umbrella. :)  It makes me happy.  Anyways, hello all!  I'm glad to see that there are many fans of this show.

Hey, the Poppins crew is going to make an appearance at the Macy's Parade this year! Not surprisingly, they'll be singing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. (Am I the only one who's relieved they chose another song for the Tony's?) That's all!

Did anyone happen to go see the show this weekend? Or on Thursday? I think Gavin was on Holiday.

I saw this beautiful ad while in a doctor's lobby in one of the magazines, I forgot which, but last night my neighbor had an issue of TIME and lo and behold, there it was! She let me keep it, and here it is, a beautiful ad featuring a picture of Ashley Brown and the beautiful interior of the New Amsterdam theatre:
